Common bone and muscle problems in the elderly: what can we do?
It is inevitable that our bodies deteriorate with age β but the right preparation can keep our parents independent for longer.
As we age, the wear and tear on our bones, joints, and muscles compounds. Osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, sarcopenia, and falls-related injuries are all part of the same family of conditions that can rob older adults of their independence.
The good news: many of these conditions respond well to early intervention. Resistance exercise, balance training, vitamin D, calcium-rich diets, and the right mobility aids at the right time can preserve quality of life for decades.
At Lifeline, we work alongside Singapore's allied health community to fit the right rehabilitation equipment β wheelchairs, walking aids, transfer devices, pressure-care surfaces β to the right person at the right stage. Our retail showrooms are staffed by people who can help families navigate that journey.
